We at Caravanya are very close to nature and love spending the night outdoors (most of us anyway ;) ). That is why we thought about how we can bring this exciting experience closer to more people and have developed the app Caravanya.

The history of Caravanya
You want to know why we developed our app and how we came up with the name "Caravanya"? Don't look any further, we'll tell you on this site and share some of our milestones so far.
The idea for our app is born
We have been camping for many years and are always looking for good pitches. We have tried different apps but were never fully satisfied. We also had tons of fun and useful features in mind, which have not been implemented anywhere. So we came up with the idea of developing our app to implement these ideas and thereby share them with other campers. Besides, it doesn't hurt to have another app because more variety means less crowded pitches.
The big step of implementation
We started with three people (Susana, Tobi, and Alex) and had to think about what we needed and how we could implement our ideas. What should be the starting point for everything? We had to analyze our strengths and weaknesses, compare different technologies and decide on the one we would use. After that, we just jumped right in and started.
Our biggest challenge was and is to make Caravanya better known. We want to reach more users and find partners and sponsors. At the moment, we have to find a balance between app development and other ways to make a living. Nevertheless, we are constantly trying to put time, blood, and sweat into the development of Caravanya.
Speaking of Caravanya, how did the name of our app come about?
It's a simple story: We were sitting in a Prague bar with a bottle (cough, several bottles) of beer, and the three of us were brainstorming to come up with a name for the app. And as is often the case, among the hundreds of potential name ideas, there was always at least one person who opposed it. Until we came up with "Caravanya." The name immediately clicked with everyone.
The release of Caravanya
On 05 February 2020, the time had come: Caravanya was released. On that day, the app has been available in the Play Store, ready for all camping enthusiasts worldwide. Then on 23 May 2020, it also appeared in the App Store so that all Apple users could also explore the world.
A look into the future
The big plan is to live off the app in the future because that's the only way we can put 100% of our energy into improving Caravanya. We still have many ideas for more useful features. For some time now, we have been working on some community features that will allow users to better connect with other campers and thus get more information. Another goal is the completeness of pitch information and even more pitches. Ideally, we would like to travel to all of them in person and add to the information ourselves. Unfortunately, this is impossible. However, with the help of the campsite operators and our users, we are steadily approaching our goal.
